cabbages and kale
Ill have to visit the garden center this weekend as my brassicas are breaking out of their home!
Need to buy some larger netting as the mesh i have on at the moment is making them look claustrophobic - poor things! I thought the mesh would be fine until later in the year then all i would have to deal with would be the birds… Hm. Not sure. Would normal netting be OK to use now (butterflies caterpillars etc) or will i end up with Lacy cabbages? The mesh i have think its called evo/euro mesh is not cheap and has done a great job protecting them.. Ill tell ya, trying to keep one step ahead is giving me headaches!
Need to do some surfing on protecting brassicas, to see how other plotty holders have protected theirs!
These are my January king
My black kale is doing well and my purple sprouting broccoli, apart from one which is looking a bit sickly. Not sure why. Its not growing as well as the others, they have shot past him leaving him well behind - late developer?
