frozen peas

Looks like ill have to sow my peas again!

I sowed the peas a heirloom [Telephone] on Friday. Which was a glorious sunny day. Two days later they are covered in snow… Oh how I wish I had covered them with Enviromesh, instead of netting to keep the mice off. All I can do now is keep my fingers crossed and play the waiting game. They don’t like to be sown in cold wet soil [they weren't] now they have a cold white blanket of snow.. I’m 90% certain Ill have to sow again in a couple of weeks. I also planted my potatoes on Thursday, I’m more optimistic of those after a mad dash down to my lottie on Saturday to cover them with fleece [poor peas got forgotten] I think my spuds will be ok as they haven’t emerged. I have read if frost threatens then you should earth them up or cover them to protect the shoots. Hm… No shoots yet, [only been in a couple of days] so hopefully no problem.. Fingers crossed!!

Here’s hoping for lots of sun to follow your snow — you never know, they may be okay. :) You could always say they’re Snow Peas. ;)

I think I may have to re-sow peas as well
