Pulled the onions today
Just ignore the state of the bed, I have. With all the rain we have had i have struggled to keep it weed free…
I have them at home drying. Some of the onions have a thick neck so will not store, i did not fertilise them (over fertilising can cause thick neck) the ground previously had been burned and there was a lot of wood ash there. (good for onions) Me thinks too much. So we`ll be having onion soup in the near future, lots of it. Good job i like onion soup..
My red baron were a disappointment (so tiny) apparently they don’t grow on my site. Other plot holders have given up trying to grow them ..
I have taken quite a few photos, so ill update when i have time…
