question!
Am i being petty?
Last week i spent 5 hours burning bramble ect at the back of my plot only to return there today and find the oil drum which was full of wood ash empty! I had planned putting it on the middle of the plot which iv just cleared, but when i arrived today with a list of things to do in my head, i grabbed my wheel-barrow headed for the drum and.. its gone, the drum was completly empty.
Hubs thinks im making a mountain out of a mole hill. I think they have a bloody cheek.
yeah, ok.. iv got plenty of wood to burn but thats not the point!
They wouldn’t like it if i strolled over to their plot and helped myself to their manure which we get free and delivered for free; its the principle of it..I wouldn’t dream of taking anything from someone else’s plot without asking, not even a bloody weed!
If they are prepared to nick wood ash, what else are they prepared to take when my backs turned? I feel like a trust has been broken, am i the only one to think its courteous to ask…
As i said, hubs thinks im making too much of it..
I bought a cheap cold frame today, a bit of forward planning for my tomatoes and peppers. I thought of putting the pots in there in a few weeks time to harden off before planting.. Now im not so sure thats a good idea!

I’d be furious, like you. People are so bloody selfish.
If it’s another allotmenteer, though, you should easily find the culprit; wood ash is easily discernible in earth, even when it’s been dug in. In your place I’d give the miscreant an earful.

I totally agree with you! If your plot was obviously derelict and not looked after, I could understand why maybe someone would think it is acceptable to come and help themselves. But it is not the case, and it is out of order to just take things without asking!

No not petty at all. Its the whole trust issue really, Your space has been violated I guess.
