Give me sunshine/Green thumb Sunday
Trying to find a sunny spot for my 20 succulents and cactus, is nigh on impossible. We had our first frost a couple of days ago, so.. indoors they came and from now till spring ill be playing the gardeners equivalent of musical chairs moving them from room to room trying to get as much light as possible, as well as trying to keep them cool during their rest period.
Not easy on a grey frosty January day with the heating full on. Hubs thinks I’m mad growing them in our climate ” they need a greenhouse for the winter months” yeah,” i agree” but we need a garden to put it in”… I keep on trying and have lost a few over the years, gave a few away when they got too big for my window sills. Now i grow teeny ones. They’ll go back outdoors on the window sills next spring….
I dream of this

My succulents would like a rest, but it’s still in the mid-eighties here. Some are trying to become dormant, but they are confused by the high temps. I wonder if they will bloom next spring.
With 20 plants to deal with, I suppose it would be hard for you to move them in and out and then around the house all winter, but if you only lose a couple, that’s pretty good!
Happy GTS,
